Editorial: What’s Not co-opting guerilla knitting

Co-opting YarnBombing (see this post) has to do, in my opinion, with marketing it. It can be argued that Rye Rye’s videoclip is part of the mainstream music industry that aims to sell a cultural product, but let’s say the creative process of styling the videoclip did not pervert street art at all, it in fact highlighted it. There is street art everywhere in that video!

This next videoclip embraces the DIY culture and thus promotes the knitting revival as a positive project, makes it look cool, and inspires participation.
